Having never done a cross country move before, I’m often trying to figure out what is the next step. I’m frequently shocked by not knowing what I need to do next. The whole thing can seem so overwhelming when you look at the whole picture and wonder how it will ever come together. There is so much that needs to happen and I’m trying very hard not to be stressed out by it all.
Here is what we did figure out was next. Yes, I did say we, my husband and I talk at least twice a day. In the morning when I get out of the shower (hmmm) and in the evening when he’s coming back from work. We need to get a cost and date when the movers are going to take what we are taking to Austin out of the house for the painters and flooring people to do their thing. Thankfully, I did have a virtual meeting with a moving company this Thursday. He sent over a quote, but it’s only one of the two quotes for moving our stuff. Now my next step is to call him back and find out what happened to the other two quotes. We definitely can’t wait until we know what moving day is, as that is going to determine a lot of the rest of the schedule for July.
Other than the movers, I’ve been continuing to clean out things. Last weekend, I started the basement. Separating things into piles for trash, the take away guy, and donation center trips.
Thank goodness for my bullet journal! Every day I write down three things I’m grateful for and then what I need to accomplish, usually based on my current 12-week-year goals. I don’t know what I would do without my bullet journal! It’s one of the biggest things that keep me sane and on track. I particularly like this one that has grid paper for the layout. I prefer grids over dots. I’ve always been a list maker, but this helps me on a whole new level. I’m also a big fan of erasable pens. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and don’t like when my bullet journal is all messy. I know some people like to use white-out or correction tape, but I’d rather erase it. These pens write super smooth, have great colors and erase like a dream!!!
I’m looking forward to having another update in a few days with what our plans are for this move. Is there something special you’re planning for right now? Let me know what helps you with your planning process and staying on track!
