Last week was busy getting back on track after being in Columbus, Ohio for work for an entire week. Then throw in my wedding anniversary on the Friday I returned (the 22nd). Our anniversary was low key, we walked around a favorite shop, had lunch out just the two of us and got massages before heading home to hang with the boys the rest of the day.
So I spent last week trying to play catch up with home and work, especially work. I will say I’m very proud of myself though. I love getting an opportunity to catch up with certain favorite organization and personal development people online. Mostly on Instagram. I do love when people save stories to their IG profile and I can watch things I might never have caught before. My friend in South Africa, Marcia has a blog OrganisingQueen and her IG stories had a great tip for work on Friday planning for the following week. It’s under her IG profile and called Work Routines. I’m sure it’s quite old, but I’ve never seen it before and it was exactly what I needed.
I needed to finish my Year End Self Assessment at work on Friday and submit it so my manager can now do my year end review. After that, I had the entire afternoon blocked off to write out my goals for next week by project (although we call them initiatives now as we’re Agile!) and printed them out. I now feel organized and ready for the week, which includes Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be in the office. This Friday, I will also write up my ta da list of weekly wins. I know I want to make sure I celebrate my accomplishments as I tend to just push myself to the next item on the list.
I did get a specific organization project done this weekend, my husbands dresser in his closet! I still have to do the rest of his closet with him, but this was a big step and so worth it! We went to a friend’s house for dinner and trick or treating with the boys. Definitely needed to take a break!
This week I also want to put away my Spring/Summer clothes in my closet and put away the clothes in the Fall/Winter bins. I’ve opened up the bins and started wearing some items from them, but really need to get my closet swapped over before we get too far into this week for work. Then I can tackle the rest of my husband’s closet and I will have finished one of my goals I had in October.
