I don’t know if I’ve been living up to my word of the year of being bold, but I survived the last few months of school, so I’ll take that as a win! Our youngest twin boy finally had a diagnosis of ADHD at the end of January, and we spent months getting his medicine dose right, and then making sure he passed as many classes as possible to finish his first year of high school. I feel like I was in survival mode, but we learned so much and have come amazingly far. School just ended on Friday (they let out early here in Texas, but will be back in school in mid-August!), and he only needs to make up one term of Spanish II. Let me know if you want me to talk about our experiences with teenage depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I feel like we’re doing well kicking their butts!
While doing all this, certain things are just making my life happier now, and I want to share all the details!

Garden
We are officially set up with a vegetable and herb garden for this summer at our new house! Last year we did not have time, as we moved into this house at the beginning of April and still needed to unpack our furniture and stuff. Before we knew it, we were already into 90-degree F days and could not plant any young tender seedlings. The season to start planting your garden starts in March here in Texas. These are older pics though. I’ll post some more recent pics soon!
Do-it-Myself Gel Mani-Pedi
I have to admit being able to do my gel nails at home and on my own schedule, with no appointments to be made, while watching a show is very freeing. I also love having fresh bright pink nails ready for the summertime!!! It’s also great to have your pedicure match perfectly because you don’t have to think about how expensive a gel pedicure is compared to a regular one at a salon. You already have the materials, and it’s just your time and energy!
I’ve posted the equipment I have and the methods I use for doing my gel manicure at home here.
Body lotion/cream
Another of my favorite life hacks is putting this lotion all over my legs and butt while they are still damp from the shower! They keep my legs feeling so soft and silky! I use it year-round!!!
Bridgerton
Love that they finally released the latest season of Bridgerton and that it is giving me something fresh and new to watch in the summer. I’ve read all the books, and love how they’ve been adapting them for television! Pair it with a snack of Greek yogurt, berries, and high-protein granola while watching outside on the patio to feel the summer freedom! Now I need to survive until mid-June for the remainder of the episodes to come out
Next Up in This Mom of Teenagers Life
The things I’m working on for the rest of the summer is ensuring I’m working out more and eating more protein-rich foods. I’ve spent the last almost six months ensuring the kids are good, and now I need to make sure I’m also taking care of myself!
What is saving you right now? Are there any mom of teenage kids hacks you rely on? Would also love to hear ADHD tips for teenage boys!!!!
